Position Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Finisher/Painter to join our finishing department. This is a hands-on role responsible for handling all aspects of wood finishing from prep work and sanding to spraying, staining, and sealing. Candidates must be comfortable working with a wide range of materials and finishes, with a strong eye for detail and a commitment to craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete all phases of the finishing process, including surface prep, sanding, sealing, staining, painting, and final top coats
Use spray equipment to apply stains, lacquers, and paints
Work with water-based, pigmented, and solvent-based finishes
Mix and match stains to achieve desired colors and effects
Maintain finishing tools, spray equipment, and materials
Read and follow shop drawings and job specifications
Collaborate with other departments to meet project deadlines
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Ensure finishes meet high quality standards
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in wood finishing or similar trade required
Must be experienced with spray equipment and finishing techniques
Solid understanding of stains, lacquers, paints, and finishing processes
Familiarity with water-based and pigmented finishes preferred
Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
