Building Maintenance /Grounds Mechanic - Municipal Auditorium

This position performs skilled work in maintenance and repair of various building systems as well as maintain the grounds of the venue. This includes interior and exterior work.
This position is located at an entertainment venue. Scheduled Nights, Weekends, and Holidays Required.
- Repair and maintain building fixtures, furniture, electrical and plumbing systems.
- Repair and maintain toilets, sinks, water fountains, and drain pipes.
- Replace and repair electrical switches, fixtures, and related systems.
- Replace motorized or electrical machinery.
- Replace or install doors, locks, windows, and related hardware.
- Paint and touch up paint.
- Ensure that all building safety features are operational.
- Check alarm and sprinkler systems.
- Pick up litter around the building.
- Maintain the grass and trees
- Clear entrances to building
- Inspect and clear graffiti or vandalism inside and outside of building.
- HVAC maintenance:
- Replace or clean filters.
- Clean and/or repair vents and ducts.
- Maintain and/or replace thermostats.
- Assist with event set up needs: Move bike rack, stanchion, pipe and drape, chairs, etc.
- Assist with setting the building for load ins and load outs.
- Supervise Contractors replacing damage to venue.
- Keep simple records of repairs and dates.
High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of skilled maintenance and/or repair work on electrical, environmental, or mechanical building systems.
OR
Eight (8) years facility maintenance experience in Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and successful completion of safety training.
LICENSES REQUIRED: A Valid Driver's License

Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.
- Forklift certification
- Experience with StageRight staging system
- Experience with 3 Phase 208V show power
- General production knowledge
