Journeyman Carpenter / Site Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Journeyman Carpenter / Site Supervisor to join our team at Homes to Havens. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of hands-on carpentry experience and proven success in supervising residential and/or commercial construction projects. This hybrid role involves both physical carpentry work and overseeing daily on-site operations to ensure quality, safety, and project timelines are met.

Key Responsibilities:

Carpentry (Hands-on Duties):
Perform advanced carpentry work including framing, finishing, cabinetry, drywall, flooring, doors, and trim.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications accurately.
Operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
Troubleshoot and resolve on-site construction and carpentry issues.
Maintain a high standard of craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Site Supervision:
Supervise and coordinate on-site crews, subcontractors, and tradespeople.
Plan and schedule daily work activities to ensure project milestones are achieved.
Conduct site inspections for quality control and adherence to building codes and safety standards.
Manage material deliveries, site organization, and inventory control.
Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, vendors, and inspectors.
Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:
Red Seal or recognized Journeyman Carpenter certification.
Minimum 10 years of experience in carpentry and construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or foreperson role.
Strong knowledge of residential construction, materials, and building codes.
Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively while also working independently.
Proficient in reading construction documents and managing construction schedules.
Basic computer and smartphone literacy (e.g., email, construction apps, documentation).
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Skills:
First Aid and WHMIS certification.
Experience with project management software (e.g., Buildertrend, Procore).
Knowledge of sustainable building practices and energy-efficient construction.
