Key Purpose

The Painter works directly with the Facilities Manager and Facility Operations Manager to ensure all facilities, and all related equipment are maintained to highest standards. They are expected to build and foster a culture of teamwork. This position regularly interacts with people at all levels throughout the company and should always represent the Facilities Department as a professional partner.

Ideal Candidate Experience

Proven experience as a painter

A minimum of 1 year of experience in painting, commercial painting preferred

Solid knowledge in maintenance techniques of the general systems found in manufacturing and commercial buildings

Use computerized systems to enter and retrieve data

Good basic math skills

Give technical guidance and assistance to other team members

Excellent reading, writing, and comprehensive skills and proficient with computer hardware and software

The technician is expected to be proactive at seeking out training opportunities to continuously increase their job skills and their knowledge of the systems they are responsible for. There are opportunities for on-the-job training as systems are added, changed, or modified.

Key Accountabilities

Support maintenance team in completing punch-list items

Use proper personal protective equipment

Present a professional appearance and conduct

Understand customer service and satisfaction

This position is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing general building equipment and systems with an emphasis on the painting and maintenance of walls, ceilings, and trim. Inspects equipment for proper function and performs preventative maintenance duties per manufacturers' specifications. Diagnose equipment malfunctions and make repairs or adjustments as needed

The successful applicant for the Building Maintenance Painter position shall be responsible for providing repairs and preventive maintenance services at our customer's manufacturing plant on systems including but not limited to:

Building floors, walls, ceilings, and roofs

Door and lock hardware

Restroom fixtures

Wood, glass, metal, sheetrock, vinyl, and tile surfaces

They will be knowledgeable in reading blueprints/instructions and examining surfaces to determine the kind and amount of necessary work

They will be capable of making on-site preparations such as erecting scaffolding and covering fixtures

They will be able to prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint, etc.

They will investigate noise complaints and perform the appropriate actions to make corrections

They will make temporary and permanent repairs to mitigate slip, trip, and fall hazards

They will be able to read and interpret equipment and system operations, maintenance, and specification product manuals

They shall manage daily repair calls on multiple projects using the computerized work order system

They will assist customers with questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner

Physical Demands & Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand for long periods of time, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch/crawl and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds

Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, unsafe places; fumes/airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration

Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions

The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud
