Overview: We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer (ME) who is detail-oriented, innovative, and committed to engineering excellence. The ideal candidate will take designs from concept through to production, producing 3D models, accurate drawings, and complete Bill of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing. This role requires collaboration with various departments and vendors to ensure design accuracy, manufacturability, and cost optimization. Key Responsibilities: Create complete 3D models including top-level assemblies, sub-assemblies, and individual parts. Develop accurate, production-ready 2D drawings and complete BOMs. Coordinate with Electrical and IT Engineering to ensure seamless system integration. Perform FEA analysis, stress calculations, and design optimization. Conduct and document testing to ensure designs meet customer and safety requirements. Research applicable industry standards and codes (e.g., MI, RVIA, SAE). Provide engineering support for Change Orders, assessing design impact, feasibility, and timelines. Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to produce proposal drawings and models. Track daily hours spent per project and maintain accurate documentation. Occasionally travel for site visits or client meetings, as needed. Desired Skills & Knowledge: Proficient in SolidWorks and CAD modeling/drawing standards. Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes (welding, machining, etc.). Familiarity with quality control practices and product cost optimization. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology (ABET accredited). 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Work Environment: Split between office and indoor manufacturing space. Varying temperature and noise levels; PPE provided and required as appropriate. Business casual attire in the office; closed-toe shoes and safety glasses required on the production floor.
