The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Maintenance Mechanic 4 (MM4) at Olympic Corrections Center (OCC) in Forks, WA.
Olympic Corrections Center (OCC) is a 381-bed male facility located near the Hoh Rainforest. This facility houses minimum security incarcerated individuals and offers treatment, work and vocational programs to help ready incarcerated individuals to transition back into the community. OCC also has outside work crews to serve the community as well as fire crews that work alongside Department of Natural Resource employees.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Provides expert level management of planning, directing and performing of work in a specific maintenance discipline or trade.
Supervise incarcerated individuals, equipment mechanics and/or others performing skilled maintenance, repair and modification of plant machinery and mechanical equipment involved with buildings, special apparatus, utilities and facilities.
Responsible for snow removal operations.
- Directly responsible for maintenance and construction activities to include repair and preventive maintenance of all buildings assigned to position or as directed.
- Ensure incarcerated work crew to staff ratio is maintained in accordance with Policy/Operational manuals.
- Operate maintenance equipment as required by task.
- Works closely with all stakeholders and maintenance staff to resolve related maintenance issues in assigned buildings.
- Develops, implements, tracks and performs preventative maintenance per prescribed schedules.
- Assists, directs and trains work crews on preventive maintenance procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining up to date Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all chemicals stored in assigned lockers, to include proper labeling, weighing, issue and logging procedures.
- Orders equipment, parts and machinery on E-purchasing system for supervisory approval.
- Adheres to invoicing and accounting procedures through Warehouse supply staff and Plant/Facilities manager.
- Conducts daily tool accountability checks at the beginning, mid-day and end of shift. Signs in/out all used tools daily on tool check out sheets.
- Maintain accurate accounting of work performed and open work orders.
Required qualifications:
Two (2) years of related experience and completion of recognized apprenticeship in at least two skilled trades, such as building and equipment maintenance, construction or repair work, OR four (4) years of applicable work experience or vocational training.AND
