Assistant Superintendent (Commercial Construction)**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Superintendent to support the day-to-day operations of construction projects. This role involves assisting the Superintendent in managing on-site construction activities, coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and material deliveries, and monitoring project schedules to ensure timely completion. You will also be responsible for maintaining safety protocols and compliance with OSHA and company standards, conducting site inspections for quality control, and supporting problem-solving and conflict resolution on-site.
**Responsibilities**
+ Assist the Superintendent in managing on-site construction activities.
+ Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and material deliveries.
+ Monitor project schedules and report progress to the management team.
+ Ensure compliance with safety protocols, OSHA, and company standards.
+ Conduct site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to plans/specifications.
+ Maintain daily logs, reports, and documentation of site activities.
+ Support problem-solving and conflict resolution on-site.
+ Attend project meetings and assist with planning and scheduling.
+ Help manage site logistics, including equipment and material staging.
**Essential Skills**
+ Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
+ Excellent communication and organizational skills.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelors degree in construction management or related field preferred.
+ 2+ years of experience in construction, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
+ Proficiency with construction management software is a plus.
+ OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
