Staff Electrical Engineer

Kennedy Jenks is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to join our team. This is a great opportunity for an early-career engineer to launch their career in water and wastewater infrastructure design while working alongside some of the most experienced professionals in the industry. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that delivers innovative and sustainable solutions for water, wastewater, and environmental infrastructure projects across the U.S.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and related infrastructure.

  • Support senior engineers in preparing construction drawings, technical specifications, and reports.

  • Perform basic engineering calculations such as voltage drop, load studies, and conduit/cable sizing.

  • Work with CAD and/or BIM software to produce electrical design documentation.

  • Gather background information for project planning and design development.

  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.

  • Learn and follow Kennedy Jenks' quality and safety standards, procedures, and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (required)

  • 0-2 years of related engineering experience (internships or co-op experience a plus)

  • Interest in power distribution, controls, or instrumentation design

  • EIT certification preferred or willingness to obtain

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Willingness to learn and grow in a team-oriented environment

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit is a plus

Salary range for this position is anticipated to be $83,000 to $90,000, and may vary based upon education, experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications and geographic location.
