Sheet Metal Foreman Job Description The Sheet Metal Foreman leads and supervises all aspects of sheet metal work on complex commercial construction sites. This role ensures timely and quality installation of ductwork, ventilation systems, and other metal assemblies per project specifications. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of construction schedules and safety protocols. Responsibilities Manage daily operations of the sheet metal crew, ensuring productivity and safety. Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications for layout and installation. Oversee installation of ductwork, HVAC components, and custom metal assemblies. Coordinate tasks and workflow with project managers, superintendents, and other trades. Ensure compliance with mechanical codes, quality standards, and jobsite protocols. Conduct inspections and troubleshoot issues during and after installation. Keep detailed records including daily reports, work logs, and inventory. Train and mentor apprentices and junior installers. Monitor equipment and material needs, placing orders to maintain project efficiency. Drive progress to meet critical milestones within budget constraints. Essential Skills Proficiency in sheet metal work and HVAC installation. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications. Experience in ductwork installation and sheet metal fabrication. Skill in using hand and power tools for installation and assembly. Knowledge of mechanical codes and quality standards. Strong leadership and team management skills.
