Job Description As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and installing new equipment while collaborating with the Operations and Maintenance departments. You will provide technical support in the acquisition, installation, operation, maintenance, and improvement of manufacturing equipment. Researching new industry developments in engineering techniques, machines, equipment, materials, and incorporating innovations into existing operations will be a key aspect of your role. Additionally, you will enforce departmental and plant objectives in areas such as Safety, Quality, Sanitation, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness. Coordination of building preventative maintenance activities and repairs with plant and area leads is essential, ensuring that Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards are incorporated into new designs. Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and install new equipment.
- Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance departments.
- Provide technical support for manufacturing equipment.
- Research and incorporate new industry developments.
- Enforce safety, quality, sanitation, and effectiveness objectives.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance activities and repairs.
- Ensure GMP and safety standards in new designs.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Solidworks.
- BS Degree in Engineering.
- Advanced electrical fundamentals knowledge.
- Industrial medium voltage and power distribution expertise.
- NFPA 70e trained.
- Ability to read, interpret, and create engineering drawings.
- Capital and plant operations project management.
- Experience in heavy industrial settings preferred.
- Root cause investigation.
- HAZOP and process hazard analysis.
- Knowledge of OSHA, FDA, & EPA regulatory compliance.
- Continuous improvement.
- Experience in food processing, pharmaceutical, and/or chemical processing industry.
- Experience with sifting, cleaning, sterilization, milling, mixing, and packaging equipment.
