Project Manager - Municipal Projects

Location: Kansas City, MO

Salary Range: $90,000 - $150,000

Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc. (CMT) is a full-service civil engineering and consulting firm with a dedicated team comprised of engineers, planners, and subject matter experts. Our team is seeking to add a talented, experienced Project Manager to our Surface Transportation Team. The selected candidate will have demonstrated experience in leading Surface Transportation professionals in delivering quality projects, the ability to work as a team member, function in a business development and client management role, and possess a strong desire to grow and mentor people within our dynamic team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform and lead projects including client management, supervising and directing junior staff in support of the group manager and the team at large
  • Work with municipalities, county highway departments, and state transportation departments across all our locations
  • Planning, design, and project management of transportation projects. Work on a variety of transportation projects including rural highways, city streets, and multi-modal trails
  • Leadership opportunity available
  • Serve as a client manager or the ability/desire to grow into a client-facing professional capable of delivering high quality products and services to our clients
  • Identification and pursuit of business opportunities
  • Engagement of clients, agencies and other professionals within the transportation industry

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer License
  • Minimum eight years of civil engineering experience (ten years preferred) with demonstrated technical design expertise in transportation projects including geometric design, grading, drainage, pavements, utilities, quantities, engineering reports, and specifications
  • Previous project leadership experience required
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil3D, and OpenRoads Designer software packages
  • Strong technical, written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work and lead in a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments on a variety of projects
  • Ability to work in an environment with quick learning plus the initiative to interact with a variety of people
  • Ability to mentor staff
