TITLE : Housing Construction Carpenter 3 \n

DEPARTMENT: Meskwaki Housing Program \n

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt \n

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES : \n

• Constructs, erects, installs and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood and wallboard using carpenter's hand tools and power tools in conformance with local building codes. \n
• Studies blueprints, sketches or building plans to determine type of material required and dimensions of structure to be fabricated and selects specific type of lumber to be used. \n
• Prepares layout, marks cutting and assembly lines on materials, assembles cut and shaped materials to prescribed measurements. \n
• Verifies trueness of structure. \n
• Erects framework for structures, lays subflooring, builds stairways and partitions, and installs cabinetry. \n
• Fits and installs prefabricated windows, doors and interior trim and finish hardware. \n
• Other duties as assigned. \n

REQUIREMENTS: \n

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. \n
• Must have at least 6 years of construction experience in the following: \n

• Framing and Layout \n
• Trim and Finish Work \n
• Roofing and Siding \n
• Concrete Forming and Finishing \n \n
• Must be in good physical condition. \n
• Must have initiative to motivate self and complete work as instructed. \n
• Must have valid driver's license and be insurable. \n
• Must be willing to work overtime. \n
• Prefer ability to read blueprints. \n

SUPERVISION : \n

• Supervised by the Carpenter 4. \n

SALARY LEVEL : \n

• $47,113 - $73,466 ","
