Lead a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to mechanical projects, finding innovative, cost-effective means to improve techniques, procedures, and products and technologies. You will break down complex processes and guide the execution of product/process improvements. You will manage overall technology strategy, endorse methodologies and set up development processes in specialty areas. Manage technical resources to define and deliver engineered solutions. Act as technical project interface with the other teams in Resideo. Ensure solutions meet appropriate engineering standards and special standards as they apply. This team sits in multiple locations, including international sites.
**JOB DUTIES:**
**Team Leadership and Mentorship:** Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians, delegate tasks, and provide technical guidance to support team development and productivity.
**Design and Development:** Create and refine mechanical designs using CAD software, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and industry standards.
**Prototyping and Testing:** Develop prototypes, perform functional testing, and iterate designs based on test results and performance data.
**Project Management:** Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage projects from concept through production, meeting deadlines and budget constraints.
**Documentation and Reporting:** Prepare detailed engineering documentation including specifications, test procedures, and technical reports.
**Continuous Improvement:** Identify and implement process improvements to enhance product performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
**YOU MUST HAVE:**
+ 3+ years of experience leading Research and Development functions.
+ 5+ years of experience in leading engineering teams.
+ New product introduction (NPI) direct experience and leadership.
+ Working experience in CAD Software, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Thermal and Fluid Systems, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).
