Be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to mechanical projects, finding innovative, cost-effective means to improve techniques, procedures, and products and technologies. You will design products to meet customer needs, product quality, manufacturability, new product development, prototype builds, testing, and may serve a project manager role for smaller development projects. You will develop the product designs necessary to drive product improvement and will be integral in securing present and future business by consistently meeting or exceeding Voice of Customer requirements. Solve complex problems where analysis of a situation is required in order to meet the requirements of the customer. Serve as the technical lead role for product lines or new development projects. Work via Product management with Sales and Customers to ensure designs meet customer expectations.

**JOB DUTIES:**

+ **Lead mechanical design and development** of potable water systems and components, including enclosures, valves, flow regulators, and filtration housings, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., NSF, WRAS).

+ **Collaborate with cross-functional teams** , including with international team members

+ **Design and prototype components** using CAD tools, focusing on material selection for potable water safety, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.

+ **Perform comprehensive mechanical and thermal simulations** , including pressure containment, fatigue and creep analysis, thermal expansion, and stress concentration studies, to validate the structural integrity and long-term reliability of PRVs, filters, backflow preventers, and thermostatic mixing valves under varying pressure, temperature, humidity, and water quality conditions.

+ **Collaboration on testing and validation efforts** , including hydrostatic testing, flow rate verification, and lifecycle testing, to ensure product reliability and compliance.

+ **Drive innovation** in potable water technologies through research, prototyping, and evaluation of emerging materials, smart sensing technologies, and sustainable design practices.

**YOU MUST HAVE:**

+ 5+ years Strong technical background in R&D development

+ 5+ years hands on experience with New product introduction (NPIs)

+ Proven professional experience in CAD software, Design engineering, Engineering analysis

**WE VALUE:**

+ Experience with PTC Creo

+ Industrial design experience

+ Proficiency in GD&T

+ Experience with water products (certification according to ASSE)

+ 6 sigma tools experienced
