Spherion Fort Myers is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support a food manufacturing plant operations in Clewiston Florida. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible to keep the equipment operational by installing, operating and maintaining the mechanical components, controls and systems on process equipment and associated utility services. The Maintenance Technician maintains in operating condition facilities and processing equipment in a food manufacturing plant in Clewiston Florida, this is a permanent placement position.

Responsibilities:
- Maintains in operating condition facilities and processing equipment.
- Must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose systems and equipment to minimize downtime and correct deficiencies in an expeditious manner.
- Install and maintain production equipment.
- Attend regular pass-down meetings at beginning and end of shift to communicate issues to insure follow-up and closure of jobs.
- Follow all safety procedures to ensure a safe work place. Maintains the maintenance department and your maintenance work space in clean, sanitary and presentable condition at all times.
- Work with other Maintenance Technicians in a team environment to address maintenance assignments and troubleshoot issues.
- May assist in the training of new Maintenance Technicians.
- Maintains all maintenance logs on assigned shift
- Responsible for the completion of the prescheduled workload to have equipment ready for production.
- Understands at all times current daily business objective, completes documentation as required and actively participates in information transfer at shift meetings.
- Promptly respond to any equipment break downs or downtime when applicable.
Installation, preventative maintenance, and repairs of all plant equipment, waste water equipment and building structures.
- The ability to read and understand equipment manuals, schematics, electrical drawings and process drawings.
- Participate in capital improvement and infrastructure projects.
- Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)

Working hours: 4:00 AM - 1:30 PM

-Ability to lift 50 lbs
-Ability to go up/down the stairs continuously throughout their shift
- Follow Company safety rules and regulations, GMP's (good manufacturing practices).
- Follow Company policies and procedures ensure food safety and quality
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by his/her Manager.
- Commitment to company values and goals.

Education:
High School

Experience:
4-7 years

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Working knowledge of PLCs, as well as electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and refrigeration systems.
Ability to diagnose and repair equipment issues efficiently under minimal supervision.
