Project Manager

A Project Manager is needed for a utility holding company in the Monticello, MN area. This role will lead complex, high-risk projects, oversee budgets and schedules, and manage all aspects of project implementation, with a strong preference for a candidate with a nuclear and engineering background.

responsibilities:

• Leads and manages complex, high-risk projects from start to finish (cradle-to-grave).
  
  
• Manages project budgets, monitors financials, oversees capital work, and depreciates assets.
  
  
• Creates and manages project work plans and work breakdown structures, and solidifies long-term plans.
  
  
• Minimizes project risk through proactive management and escalation of concerns.
  
  
• Interfaces with internal departments (maintenance, engineering), stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure project implementation.
  
  
• Sourcing vendors, initiating, and managing contracts.
  
  
• Conducts weekly meetings, performs field/plant observations, and presents to gain approvals for project authorization.
  
  
• Manages the day-to-day aspects of the project scope, schedule, and budget.

Skills:

• Experience with SAP, Unifier, UKG Workday, MS Project, and P6/Primavera is helpful.
  
  
• A nuclear background is strongly preferred, including ex-Navy (submarine/navy) nuclear experience if commercial experience is not available.

Education and Experience:

• A background in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, civil, or construction is preferred.
  
  
• ABET accreditation is desirable.
  
  
• 5-7 years of project management experience.
