Heavy Equipment Mechanic**
**Job Description**
This role involves performing mechanical and electrical tune-ups, diagnostics, parts installation, general upkeep, and repair of mobile equipment. The equipment includes diesel engine trucks, flatbed trailers, belly dump trailers, forklifts, front-end loaders, bobcat loaders, and gas-powered generators. The mechanic will complete mechanical and electrical repairs for diesel forklift equipment and ensure the equipment around the plant supports facility operations through diagnosis and preventive maintenance tasks.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform mechanical and electrical tune-ups on various equipment.
+ Diagnose issues and perform preventive maintenance.
+ Install parts and conduct general repairs on mobile equipment.
+ Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
+ Read and interpret blueprints for equipment repair.
+ Conduct welding and fabrication tasks.
+ Handle hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
**Essential Skills**
+ Expertise in diesel and forklift mechanics.
+ Proficiency in mechanical and electrical repair.
+ Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
+ Familiarity with preventive maintenance procedures.
+ Blueprint reading skills.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ High School Diploma or GED with trade school certification.
+ Previous experience in manufacturing or industrial settings is advantageous.
+ Licenses or certifications are beneficial.
+ Strong welding and fabrication skills, particularly in stick SMAW.
