Duties and Responsibilities:
Auburn University at Montgomery is accepting applications for an HVAC Technician. Under general supervision, this position performs technical HVAC work on a wide array of building HVAC systems and their associated components to perform maintenance, repair, replacement, and installation tasks.
The candidate selected for this position will be responsible for the following:
- Performs routine repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems.
- Replaces HVAC pumps, drives, and motors.
- Performs HVAC repairs and installs HVAC components in campus buildings and will be required to serve on an on-call status for emergencies.
- Assists HVAC Manager on complex HVAC projects, equipment replacement, and installation.
- May be responsible for supervising and training employees performing HVAC duties.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of facility operations related to HVAC, OSHA regulations, and state contract guidelines.
- Knowledge of working with a work ticket system and Microsoft office software.
- Knowledge of chillers, boilers, AHU's, coils, motors, fans, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to install, maintain, and repair a wide array of common HVAC systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems.
- Ability to wire circuits/components and to repair exhaust fans and ventilation equipment.
- Ability to follow safety procedures while performing job duties.
Minimum Qualifications:

- Valid Driver's License
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Two (2) years' experience repairing and installing commercial HVAC systems.
- EPA Universal Refrigerant License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Commercial boiler knowledge and safety requirements.
