We're currently seeking a Mid-Level Structural Engineer with 3-5 years of experience to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work across a diverse range of projects-from structural assessments and new design to forensic investigations and roofing systems analysis. What You'll Do: As a Structural Engineer on our team, you'll gain hands-on experience while working directly with senior engineers and industry experts. Your role will blend analytical problem-solving with real-world site investigations. Key Responsibilities: Analyze and design structural systems using various materials (wood, steel, concrete, masonry). Support forensic investigations into structural performance and failures, including roofing systems. Conduct on-site inspections to assess structural integrity and gather field data. Prepare clear, concise technical reports under the direction of senior staff. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, contractors, and fellow engineers. Utilize engineering software such as AutoCAD, RISA 3D, and ETABS for modeling and analysis. Ensure all work complies with local and national building codes (AISC, ACI, ASCE, NDS, IBC). What We're Looking For: We're searching for someone passionate, detail-oriented, and eager to grow. A proactive mindset and strong technical foundation are key. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. 3-5 years of relevant experience in structural design or forensic engineering. EIT certification required; pursuing PE licensure strongly preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD and structural analysis software (RISA, ETABS, etc.). Solid knowledge of building codes and construction practices. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines independently. Authorized to work in the U.S. and hold a valid driver's license. Work Requirements Location: On-site in Willowbrook, IL (no remote options). Travel: Local travel within the greater Chicago area (approximately 25%). Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts; flexibility may be required for project needs.
