Responsibilities:
Perform and review structural design calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and reports
Conduct bridge inspections, load ratings, and structural analyses (linear and non-linear)
Complete hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for bridges and box culverts
Ensure compliance with quality standards through QA/QC reviews
Communicate and coordinate with clients, contractors, engineers, and sub-consultants
Participate in project planning, cost development, scheduling, and public involvement efforts
Act as Project Engineer or Project Manager depending on experience
Contribute to project interviews and technical presentations as needed
Requirements:
Licensed Structural Engineer in the State of Illinois
Design experience with IDOT standards for Illinois-based structural projects
Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois, or the ability to obtain one
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
NBIS Team Lead certification or ability to earn it for bridge inspection work
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods
Physically able to sit, walk, reach, crouch, bend, or stand on uneven surfaces
Able to lift and carry at least 30 lbs.
Frequent use of hands, fingers, and arms
Prolonged screen exposure and reading
