Welder

Position Summary

The primary role of theWelderis to join finished components in accordance with work instructions and blueprints with TIG welding on various stainless-steel materials. The role requires the above to be accomplished within Tecomet's principles of continuous improvement, customer driven innovation and a win first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Ability to weld manufactured parts to print specifications using TIG Welding System
  • Material verification and the ability to identify various weld materials in order that the proper weld is completed for the manufactured part.
  • Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
  • Examines work pieces for defects; measures work pieces to ensure they are within the specifications called for in work papers.
  • Create and maintain accurate quality records in accordance with the company's quality system
  • Knowledge and interpretation of complex drawings using geometric tolerances
  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by supervisor.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed to meet production schedules.
  • Always follow safety practices and rules.Inspects product and documents data as required.

Qualification Requirements

Credentials/Experience:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum one year experience in a welding role

Experience/Educational/Training Preferred:

  • TIG preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of welding techniques, (TIG), tools, and equipment.
  • Ability read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but written or oral instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Be able to organize and prioritize tasks daily and work closely with the Production
  • Supervisor to ensure jobs are moved through the welding area per the daily schedule.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and exercise judgment

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of a welder, the employee could be required to stand. The employee could be required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee could occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job could include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
