Job Title: Estimator

Job Description

Actalent is seeking to hire an Estimator, who will be responsible for providing estimations of electrical construction projects from the initial bid preparation through to the close-out documentation. This role involves quantity takeoff entry into estimating software, soliciting and reviewing vendor and subcontractor quotations, and reviewing current material pricing levels. You will also be responsible for drafting and submitting proposal documents while ensuring a thorough understanding of bid and construction schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Provide estimation of electrical construction projects from bid preparation through close-out documentation.

  • Conduct quantity takeoff entry into estimating software.

  • Solicit and review vendor and subcontractor quotations.

  • Review current material pricing levels and solicit quotes from vendors.

  • Review bid/construction schedules.

  • Conduct an initial review of contracts if included in bid documents.

  • Draft and submit proposal documents.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in construction, estimation, and electrical projects.

  • Bidding and blueprint reading.

  • 2+ years of electrical experience.

  • Experience estimating projects valued at $1 million and above, with bids generally ranging from $70-80 million.

  • Proficiency in Accubid and Spectrum Software.

  • Competence in pricing and budget analysis for commercial construction.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of construction management experience for an electrical contractor preferred.

  • Familiarity with Accubid.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and documents.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $48.08/hr.
