JOB FUNCTION:
The MEP Engineering Technician provides MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) engineering support for Investment Properties' commercial, industrial, residential, hotel, and retail properties.
The MEP Engineering Technician will assist the team in performing MEP due diligence for potential investments, review and evaluate engineering plans, and provide MEP engineering support and consultation on capital projects for tenant and/or property improvement. This individual will assist in providing project management and commissioning support for capital MEP projects and in the preparation to commission and re-commission mechanical systems. The MEP Enigneering Technician will assist with energy audit projects, managing energy optimization projects, and assist in providing engineering consulting support in general to the organization as needed, including utility tracking and analysis, and being a leading member of the sustainability team.
Support team in the process to review property acquisition, capital project, and tenant improvement MEP engineering plans and provide consultation to the team.
Support in building commissioning and re-commissioning.
Assist building maintenance personnel with technical support on building systems needed to make evaluations to determine if equipment is operating at peak efficiency and if tenant comfort levels are being adhered to.
Assist with ensuring energy optimization in properties by tracking energy use and evaluating tenant billing rates (after hours/condenser water).
Support team with other duties as assigned.
Membership: Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple-worthy.
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
Experience: 2+ years of experience in property/facilities management, facilities operations, or systems maintenance.
Technical Expertise:
Understanding of commercial HVAC systems, with a preference for hands-on experience.
Basic knowledge of electrical principles and energy management.
Familiarity with programming computer-based Building Automation Systems (BAS) preferred.
Proficiency in reading MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) engineering plans.
Basic technical knowledge of building systems and equipment.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
