Job Skills / Requirements
LACOSTA is looking to add an experienced Painter to our team in Waukegan, IL.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 1st Shift, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM
Pay: $23-28 an hour paid weekly DOE (every Friday)
Responsibilities:
Responsible for performing tasks as assigned by Department Supervisor.
- Apply paint to various surfaces, including: walls, floors, doors, safety poles, and rails
Scrape, sandpaper, prime, or seal surfaces prior to painting
Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protection
Make small repairs to fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, or other fillers
Utilize high lifts or ladders when it's needed
Follow all safety requirements and standards at all times
Apply paint to multiple substrates and surfaces.
Responsible for ensuring work area is kept clean and safe.
Must be able to understand the proper use of paints and solvents to work in an efficient yet effective manner.
Must be able to work as a team player with other employees in the Specialty and Operation Departments.
Must use proper personal protective equipment.
Must be able to be flexible with varying job assignments and working conditions.
Responsible for following plant rules as it pertains to each job site.
Requirements:
- Must have Painting / Prepping experience
- Must have experience with drywall and sheetrock work
- Must be energetic, pleasant & professional
- Strong communication skills
- Understanding of customer service
- Recognize and understand safety signs and building warning systems. Understand safety requirements, understand & meet company handbook expectations.
- Ability to change tasks or assignments outside normal duties.
- Must be comfortable wearing PPE (Hard hat, steel toed shoes, vest, etc)
