As the Category Director Construction Trades Sourcing , you will be responsible to lead sourcing efforts for trade partners working on major construction projects (greater than $300M) across the United States, working with the regional sourcing teams, construction teams, and designated project partners. You will engage with executive leadership to prepare strategy and advance negotiations and develop strong supplier relationships and work with internal customers to enable the best business outcomes. In this position you will be a result driven thinker, highly organized, an excellent problem solver and have a high level of interpersonal and communication skills. Ensure maximum value of major construction contracts by sourcing, contracting, developing suppliers, and completing strategies. This role from time to time will also tackle and lead specific expansion related activities, community engagement or other special assignments.
Key Responsibilities
Objectives and Planning : Develop and implement sourcing strategy and execution plan for construction project trade partners.
Agreement Development: Crafting, evaluating, negotiating, and completing master agreements with Tier 1 subcontracts nationally.
Labor Market Expertise: Monitor and strategize on attracting skilled labor to major construction projects, including elements involving housing, transportation, childcare, incentives, etc.
Risk Management: Partner with external parties to develop skilled labor pipeline to mitigate and potential key labor shortages / constraints including, but not limited to scaling of existing programs, creating new pathways and strengthening existing programs.
Relationship Development: Identify and pre-qualify trade partners (emphasis on mechanical, electrical, plumbing) and external strategic partnerships (e.g. trade schools) to establish long-term strategic relationships.
Owner oversight of Project Labor Agreements (PLAs) and interface between main parties.
Strategy Execution : Integrate trade agreements into all aspects of the construction project including planning, buy-out and post buy-out activities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work with cross-functional teams including construction and engineering to find opportunities that improve competitiveness upstream in the project lifecycle.
Market Research & Intelligence: Provide up-to-date insights on the U.S. contracting market, with a strong focus on construction labor trends.
Contract Issue Resolution: Address and resolve contract-related concerns with key subcontractors and customers.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field
Minimum of 10 years experience
Experience in leading teams in large construction projects, high-paced environments with semiconductor, oil and gas or pharmaceutical
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or advanced degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field
