Job Summary: The Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing all design work for the n business unit, overseeing the support staff, and ensuring the quality of work from the production team. This role incorporates existing and new product development, working directly with customers to create custom-designed products, and traveling to customer facilities as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage the design work for all manufactured Thermal Carbon application products.
Lead and mentor the engineering staff, ensuring high performance and professional development.
Oversee the quality of work from the production staff, ensuring adherence to quality specifications.
Drives the focus on Lean Manufacturing and 5S continuous improvement initiatives.
Oversee the equipment used in production, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
Provides technical support and understanding for New Product Introduction.
Ensure that the final products meet all quality specifications and standards.
Coordinate with subcontract suppliers to ensure timely and quality delivery of materials and services.
Work directly with customers to design and develop custom heat treat fixturing using composite materials.
Collects production and industry trend data to make informed decisions about future machine investments.
Travel to customer facilities (approximately 10% to 20% travel) to provide on-site support and consultation.
