Division Chief - Logistics

Job Summary: Plans, directs and reviews the Logistics division of the Meridian Fire Department including Fire equipment, clothing, PPE, Opticom management, Fleet management, and Fire Facilities planning, maintenance and management. Plans and reviews work of the Logistics Division. Participates as member of the departmental management team, responsible for developing and implementing department goals, objectives, policies and procedures in support of the City's vision, mission, goals and objectives. There is considerable latitude for independent action and discretion in performing assigned duties under the general direction of the Deputy Chief of Administration. This position is not part of the collective bargaining agreement. Job Specifications: College graduate from an accredited college or university with an Associates Degree (AA or AS) in Fire Science, Fire Administration, Public Administration, Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Services, or other related field as approved by the Fire Chief; Minimum fifteen (15) years of progressively responsible experience in a Fire Department with three (3) years of experience at a Chief Officer rank or higher, or any combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job; Minimum fifteen (15) years of progressively responsible experience in a Fire Department with three (3) years of experience at a Company Officer rank or higher; ICS 100,200,300,400,700, and 800 certificates required within 12 months of hire; State of Idaho EMT or Paramedic license required within 12 months of hire; Fire Officer I and II certifications, Fire Service Instructor I certification, Incident Safety Officer certification, or any combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job: Licensing and Certification: Possess and maintain a valid Idaho Class D driver's license; Maintain active membership in the Idaho Fire Chiefs Association (IFCA); Maintain active membership in the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC); Maintain State of Idaho EMT or Paramedic license; Type 3 All-hazards Incident Management Team Logistics Section Chief certificate of completion preferred.
