Welder I**
**Job Description**
The Welder I performs entry-level welding tasks under close supervision. Responsibilities include using an Arc welder and electrode rods for tack and bead welds, and an oxygen/acetylene torch for cutting metals. The role also involves operating hand and power tools to grind, bevel, fit metals together, and remove slag. The Welder I selects appropriate electrodes and holders, regulates current and time, and adheres to safety protocols. A welding certification is preferred, along with 4-5 years of experience.
**Shift and Pay**
1st shift: 5:30am - 4pm (Mon - Thurs), Option OT on Fridays from 5am - 10am
Pay Range: $24-28/hr
**Responsibilities**
+ Use modification and welding (minimum AWS 3G/4G level) skills to rework cab and other components.
+ Perform welding (AWS 3G/4G) according to blueprints.
+ Learn and retain skills and practices needed to complete welding in assigned area.
+ Fabricate components from raw stock, following detailed operator instructions, installation drawings, blueprints, etc.
+ Understand and articulate the production flow of an assigned product line or area.
+ Self-check work and inspect prior processes.
+ Use basic hand, electric, cordless, and pneumatic tools as required.
+ Meet production goals.
+ Maintain a clean and safe work area.
+ Initiate process improvements.
+ Support 5S in work area.
+ Lead or perform lean events.
+ Communicate with manufacturing and other cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
+ Solve complex problems with minimal assistance.
**Essential Skills**
+ 4-5 years of related welding experience.
+ Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding of steel, stainless, and aluminum.
+ Blueprint reading and comprehension at a high level.
+ Ability to pass required welding certification tests in AWS material sections: D1.1, D1.2, D1.3, D1.6, and D9.1.
+ Basic computer skills.
+ Strong attention to detail and quality assurance.
+ Excellent attendance and a positive attitude.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $49920.00 - $58240.00/yr.
- 401k: 100% match of first 3%, and 50% match for the next 2%
- 4 Tiers: Employee only, Employee and Spouse, Employee and Children, Family. 3 plan options: PPO, HDHP Gold, HDHP Silver
- Dental and Vision Plans
- Basic life insurance coverage of $30,000
- PTO: 60 hours in first 2 years, then 100 hours year 2-5, 140 hours year 5-10, 180 hours at 10 years and after
