Position Summary:The Drafter is responsible for creating and updating detailed technical drawings and 3D models used in the design, production, and installation of highway safety products. Working closely with engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams, the Drafter transforms conceptual sketches and specifications into accurate CAD drawings that support product development and fabrication.This position is hybrid remote eligible; however, the Engineering Manager must be onsite at least two days per week at either our Morgan, UT or Lake City, FL facilities.Key Responsibilities:

Create and revise detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for components, assemblies, and systems based on engineering specifications and design intent.Prepare layout, assembly, and detail drawings for fabrication and installation.Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs meet functional requirements, safety standards, and manufacturing capabilities.Maintain drawing files, CAD libraries, and bill of materials (BOMs) in accordance with company standards.Assist in maintaining drawing revisions and document control procedures.Support the development of technical manuals, product data sheets, and installation instructions.Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.Ensure compliance with company drafting standards and industry codes.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field required.Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks (or similar CAD software) is required.1-3 years of experience in a drafting or CAD technician role, preferably in a manufacturing or construction-related industry.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with sheet metal, structural steel, or modular product designs.Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).Familiarity with ERP systems and engineering change processes.

Preferred:

Experience with transportation safety products or DOT-regulated equipment.Familiarity with ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) or IoT-enabled devices.Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
