Cache County is looking for a Civil Engineer I to join our Engineering Division! This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved with professional, technical, and complex tasks related to designing, planning, building, and maintaining County infrastructure, as well as reviewing development projects. The starting salary for this Civil Engineer I position is $30.61 per hour. What you'll be doing: You'll be assisting with reviewing development proposals, overseeing contracts and construction projects, conducting construction reviews and field assessments for crews, and managing County rights-of-way. You'll be working under the guidance of the County Engineer. You'll perform general construction reviews and inspections for utility, roadway, and drainage improvements. This involves reviewing construction documents like design drawings and specifications for subdivisions, road and infrastructure projects, and other development activities for COG projects and development reviews. You'll also be responsible for plan set reviews, verifying budgets and expenses, and ensuring projects comply with applicable codes and policies. You'll handle right-of-way tasks such as reviewing permits, enforcing violations, coordinating and acquiring land for County construction projects. Additionally, you'll interact with the public through phone calls, onsite discussions, written communication, and at the front counter.
