Heavy Highway Estimator

Company Overview:** J.H. Maxymillian, Inc. is a reputable and

long-established civil construction firm specializing in heavy highway,

site work, and infrastructure projects. We are currently seeking a

qualified and motivated Heavy Highway Estimator to join our professional

team. This is a full-time, in-office role based in Pittsfield,

Massachusetts. **Position Summary:** The Heavy Highway Estimator will be

responsible for developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for

heavy highway construction projects. This includes analyzing project

plans and specifications, performing quantity take-offs, preparing

detailed proposals, and maintaining subcontractor and vendor

relationships. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly

organized, and capable of working collaboratively within a team

environment. **Key Responsibilities:** - Review and interpret project

plans, specifications, and contract documents - Prepare detailed project

bid estimates, including quantity take-offs, pricing, and proposal

documentation - Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate pricing with vendors

and subcontractors - Collaborate effectively with field personnel and

project managers to support project planning and estimating - Contribute

to a team-oriented work environment **Required Qualifications and

Skills:** - Associate or Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering or a related

field - Prior experience in the heavy/highway/site work construction

industry (field or office-based) - Proficiency in cost estimation

principles and construction take-offs - Experience with estimating

software such as Estimating Link, Bid2Win, HeavyBid, or equivalent -

Familiarity with scheduling software such as Primavera or Microsoft

Project - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat and/or

Bluebeam - Strong negotiation and communication skills - Ability to

manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced

environment - Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving
