Job Title: Project Engineer
Location: White Plains, NY
Duration: 12 Months (Contract)
Hours: 37.5 hrs/week
Schedule: Hybrid onsite role - 3 days per week
Position Summary:
The Project Engineer I supports the Customer Project Delivery department in delivering physical energy projects aimed at improving energy efficiency and fostering new energy technologies across New York State. This role is pivotal in working with customers to identify and implement energy-saving measures and managing projects that span lighting, HVAC, building envelope, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
Represent the client in customer, design, and contractor meetings.
Prepare engineering calculations, cost estimates, and feasibility/audit reports.
Manage 10-15 concurrent energy conservation projects (lighting, HVAC, controls, wastewater, etc.).
Develop customer commitment documents and economic analyses.
Monitor project progress, develop reports, and ensure schedule and cost adherence.
Evaluate scopes, bid results, and recommend contract awards.
Ensure all code, licensing, design, and maintenance requirements are met.
Resolve design, construction, and billing-related issues.
Review and process project financials, savings calculations, and invoices.
Coordinate across contractors, vendors, and customers to ensure quality compliance.
Enforce environmental and hazardous material safety standards.
Stay informed on evolving technologies, rates, contracts, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Strong knowledge of building mechanical/electrical systems and associated codes.
Cross-disciplinary technical expertise and experience with contractors/consultants.
Proven project management skills; ability to independently manage multiple projects.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to assess conditions, analyze environmental impacts, and develop solutions.
Familiarity with energy systems, utility rate analysis, and life cycle cost analysis.
Working knowledge of SAP, Oracle Primavera, and Microsoft Teams preferred.
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline.
Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
Experience in project management required.
Preferred certifications: PMP, CEM, or advanced degrees in engineering, science, or business.
