A global leader in infrastructure and construction services is seeking a Construction Project Manager to join their commercial building division in Columbia, SC. This role is ideal for a project manager who wants to take ownership of all phases of commercial constructionfrom planning and budgeting to on-site execution and delivery. Youll collaborate with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and leadership to ensure projects meet the highest standards for safety, quality, and efficiency.
Position OverviewAs a Construction Project Manager, youll lead the full lifecycle of commercial construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within scope, and on budget. This position plays a critical role in coordinating resources, managing risk, and maintaining strong communication across all stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead construction projects from pre-construction planning to project closeout.
Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, field teams, and subcontractors.
Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, cost forecasts, and reporting.
Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with regulations.
Monitor site conditions, quality control, and adherence to project specifications.
Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and procurement processes.
Conduct project meetings and communicate updates to stakeholders.
Assist with estimating, bidding, and business development efforts as needed.
Mentor junior project staff and support a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of experience managing commercial construction projects.
Experience with a range of building types such as industrial, mixed-use, hospitality, or institutional.
Proficiency with construction software including Procore, MS Project, or similar tools.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, coordinate subcontractors, and manage budgets.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Valid drivers license and ability to travel locally to job sites.
Preferred Qualifications
PMP certification or equivalent project management credential.
Experience with CM-at-Risk or Design-Build delivery methods.
LEED accreditation or familiarity with sustainable construction practices.
