Actalent Honolulu is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer to lead the planning, design, and execution of complex civil engineering projects across Hawaii.

The Senior Civil Design Engineer leads the technical aspects of planning, design, and execution of engineering projects. This role requires advanced technical expertise, team leadership, and collaboration with clients to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project delivery. The ideal candidate is a creative problem-solver with strong project planning and regulatory knowledge.

Project Management:

  • Coordinate technical aspects of projects from start to finish.
  • Manage office staff and subconsultants.
  • Monitor schedules, budgets, and project risks.

Planning & Development:

  • Conduct field assessments and prepare design plans, specifications, cost estimates, and calculations.
  • Seal and sign engineering documents.
  • Provide design support during bidding and construction.
  • Conduct site observations and manage project closeout.
  • Maintain productivity and profitability through effective planning.

Leadership:

  • Supervise engineers, interns, drafters, and support staff.
  • Provide technical guidance and promote team development.
  • Set goals, evaluate performance, and foster a positive, service-oriented culture.

Client & Stakeholder Relations:

  • Coordinate with clients, agencies, and contractors.
  • Build strong relationships and support business development.

Quality & Safety:

  • Ensure technical quality and compliance with laws, codes, and standards.
  • Address safety concerns and uphold industry best practices.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in civil engineering design.
  • Strong knowledge of design standards, regulations, and construction practices.
  • Leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Bluebeam.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
