Job Description:

Senior Estimator/Project Manager leads both preconstruction and project execution efforts for commercial drywall and framing scopes. This dual-role position requires an individual who excels in both estimating and project management and has a proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience with union drywall systems, a deep understanding of commercial construction practices, and strong field coordination capabilities. While the primary focus is on drywall and framing, the candidate should also be preferably experienced in paint scopes, particularly in relation to estimating and project integration.

What Will You do?

Estimation:

  • Perform comprehensive and accurate takeoffs for scopes including metal stud framing, drywall, insulation, taping, acoustic ceiling systems and preferably, paint.
  • Thoroughly review and interpret construction documents, including architectural, structural and finish drawings to ensure a complete understanding of project requirements.
  • Prepare detailed bid proposals that include clear scopes of work, exclusions, clarifications and pricing breakdowns.
  • Solicit and analyze pricing from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive and complete bids.
  • Identify opportunities for value engineering and present cost-saving alternatives during preconstruction phase.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to incorporate constructability feedback into the estimating process and ensure a smooth handoff from preconstruction to project execution.

Project Management:

  • Oversee the full project lifecycle for awarded jobs, from initial planning and scheduling through project completion and closeout.
  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules and budgets, ensuring alignment with contractual milestones and financial goals.
  • Coordinate closely with field supervision to support day-to-day operations, resolve issues proactively, and maintain alignment with the project plan.
  • Track projects progress, monitor costs, manage change orders, and ensure timely and accurate billing in coordination with accounting and stakeholders.
  • Act as primary point of contact with general contractors, owners, vendors, and internal temas throughout the duration of the project.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, jobsite safety standards, and labor regulations, including union requirements and workforce reporting.

What You Bring.

  • A minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in commercial drywall estimating and project management, with a solid track record of successfully delivering mid- to large scale projects.
  • Proficiency in construction software such as On-Screen Takeoff, QuickBid, Bluebeam, and standard scheduling tools.
  • Entensive knowledge of union drywall and framing systems, including labor rates, material assemblies, and construction best practices.
  • Preferably experience in paint scopes, particularly as it relates to estimating and project coordination.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction documents with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational and time management skills, with the ability to effectively lead meetings, negotiate with stakeholders and maintain control of project outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing public works or prevailing wage projects is strongly preferred.
  • A bachelors degree in construction management, engineering or a related field is preferred but not required.

Salary Range:

$170,000 - $200,000
