Equipment Operator - Traveling Grading Crew (Iowa/Nebraska)

Martin Marietta is hiring dependable, safety-focused Equipment Operators to join our Traveling Grading Crew, supporting site prep, stripping, and grading operations that drive major infrastructure and mining projects.

Based out of Earlham, IA, this role includes up to 75% travel to sites across Iowa and Nebraska. For assignments more than 30 miles from Earlham, employees receive paid drive time, mileage reimbursement, and a $175/day per diem for overnight stays.

The primary responsibility is operating an articulated 6-wheel truck, with opportunities to be cross-trained (or trained) on additional equipment, including haul trucks, motor graders, loaders, and water trucks. Operators also assist with general site maintenance and repairs to keep operations running smoothly.

Essential Functions:

• Safely operate an articulated 6-wheel truck and other heavy equipment as needed
• Assist in plant repairs and general clean-up
• Perform pre-shift safety inspections on equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and service equipment; report needed repairs
• Maintain good housekeeping on and around equipment
• Follow MSHA and plant safety rules and regulations
• Perform duties with minimal supervision

Minimum Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Experience is a plus but we will train the right candidate
• Bi-lingual is a plus

Working Conditions:

• Most larger equipment is air-conditioned
• Some assignments may require work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, wet, or dry)
• May be exposed to dust, sand, gravel, diesel exhaust, and other environmental conditions
