We are looking to add a Project Manager for our Norshield brand (an Assa Abloy company). This role will be on-site out of our Montgomery, AL manufacturing facility.
What would you do as our Project Manager?
Reporting into the Director of Engineering, you will serve as the key liaison between our internal teams, specialized contractors, distributors and architects, ensuring accurate design execution, hardware recommendations, timely issue resolution, and smooth handoffs to manufacturing.
You will also:
- Provide expert technical support to customers and architects throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to expand existing business and drive growth.
- Review architectural plans and specifications, preparing complete and accurate submittals using project software tools.
- Ensure hardware compatibility across product lines and verify shop drawings for accuracy and manufacturability.
- Interpret hardware templates and prepare detailed CAD drawings incorporating building dimensions and specifications.
- Address technical questions, resolve discrepancies, and maintain proactive customer communication.
- Participate in additional team projects as needed while fostering a safe and collaborative work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies, including the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.
The skills and experience you need:
- High school diploma or GED required; degree in Business, Engineering, or Management preferred.
- 3 to 5+ years of experience in estimating, technical sales or project management.
- Multi-tasker who can manage time and projects proficiently.
- Previous experience in commercial construction, building materials, or government contracting preferred.
- Proven experience working with customers, contractors, and architectural partners.
- Ability to read and coordinate architectural drawings, hardware schedules, and specifications.
- Proficiency with MS Office tools is required. Technical and electronic aptitude is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized, resourceful, and comfortable working collaboratively in a team environment or independently with minimal supervision.
