Guardian Energy Janesville has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to join the team with a starting pay of $35.00 – $41.00/hour, depending on qualifications. As a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our ethanol production facility. This position requires a skilled leader to oversee the maintenance team’s workload, coordinate preventative maintenance (PM) schedules, and manage work requests. The Maintenance Planner will also be responsible for working closely with vendors, leading maintenance projects, and collaborating closely with the material coordinator. The role requires versatility to work both in the office and in the plant, and the ability to fill in for the material coordinator as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

1. Develop, schedule, and oversee the execution of preventive maintenance programs to ensure minimal downtime.

2. Manage and prioritize work requests, ensuring timely completion and adherence to safety and operational standards.

3. Monitor and adjust schedules as necessary to meet production needs.

4. Assist maintenance technicians in diagnosing and repairing equipment failures to minimize downtime.

5. Utilize technical expertise to troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.

6. Implement corrective actions and document finding to prevent future occurrences.

7. Lead and coordinate maintenance projects, including equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.

8. Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to ensure projects are completed on time.

9. Provide input on project planning, staffing requirements, and acquiring material.

10. Work in close collaboration with the Material Coordinator to ensure necessary parts and supplies are available for scheduled maintenance and repairs.

11. Fill in the for the Material Coordinator during absences, handling inventory management, purchasing, and logistics.

12. Perform hands-on maintenance work in the field, including inspections, repairs, and equipment operation.

13. Handle administrative tasks such as work order generation, documentation, and data entry in an office setting.

14. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

• 5 years relevant work experience in the maintenance and/or operation of a process manufacturing facility or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems within an industrial setting.

• Strong knowledge of dry mill ethanol process and plant equipment

• Valid Driver’s License

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Ability to work effectively in a CMMS program and instruct others on its operation.

• Ability to work proficiently in Microsoft Word applications and Excel.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong creative and organizational skills

• Ability to interact professionally and effectively with internal and external customers.

• Ability to maintain good relationships with internal and external customers, use tact and diplomacy, and possess a customer service focus.

• Ability to read and interpret technical P&ID’s, drawings, schematics, and manuals.

• Strong analytical abilities, problem solving skills, negotiation skills, dispute resolution and ability to overcome obstacles.

• Manage multiple priorities with efficiency and accuracy.

• Strong motivational ability.

• Travel required as necessary

PHYSICAL STRENGTH: This job will require lifting of up to 50 pounds occasionally.
