Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is one of the largest privately held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast, with offices located throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Disaster Debris Monitoring Field Supervisor to oversee field operations and ensure the successful execution of disaster debris monitoring projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage a team of field personnel in challenging environments.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of disaster debris monitoring operations.
- Supervise and coordinate field personnel involved in data collection and monitoring activities.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with government agencies, client, and hauling contractors.
- Develop and implement project plans, including scheduling, resource allocation, and logistics.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, address challenges, and ensure adherence to project objectives.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of time and attendance records for Field Debris Monitors.
- Oversee Quality Control at loading sites and coordinate field operations with removal contractors.
- Schedule and deploy loading and tower/site Debris Monitors, overseeing daily activities.
- Resolve field operational, eligibility, and safety issues, maintaining communication with the Operations Manager.
- Conduct truck certifications, load measurement, and photo-documentation.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in disaster debris monitoring or related field operations.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in data collection tools and technologies.
- Ability to work effectively in challenging field conditions.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to field operations.
- Ability to climb ladders, trucks, and platforms up to 20 feet.
- Ability to travel to disaster sites as needed
