Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is one of the largest privately held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast, with offices located throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee.
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Disaster Debris Monitoring Operations Manager to oversee and coordinate all aspects of our disaster debris monitoring operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a team of field personnel, ensuring compliance with regulations and procedures, and liaising with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project execution.
Essential functions and responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of disaster debris monitoring operations.
- Supervise and coordinate field personnel involved in data collection and monitoring activities.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with government agencies, client, and hauling contractors.
- Develop and implement project plans, including scheduling, resource allocation, and logistics.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, address challenges, and ensure adherence to project objectives.
- Oversee truck certifications, load measurement, and photo-documentation.
- Conduct morning and evening debriefing meetings.
- Oversee Quality Control Program
- Resolve field operational, eligibility, and safety issues, maintaining communication with the Project Manager.
- Conduct unannounced site visits to review and inspect operations for compliance.
Minimum requirements:
- Proven experience managing disaster debris monitoring operations in a management role.
- Strong understanding of FEMA policies and regulations related to disaster debris management.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage personnel and resolve conflicts in a timely manner.
- Willingness to travel and work in challenging field conditions
- Travel is required
