Position Overview:
Liquid Environmental Solutions is a leading provider of environmentally responsible services for the removal of non-hazardous liquid waste. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Plumber III (Master Plumber). The Plumber II (Journeyman Plumber) is a licensed professional who independently performs skilled plumbing work including installation, repair, and maintenance of systems across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. This role bridges the gap between Level I (Apprentice Plumber) and Level III (Master Plumber), offering leadership in the field while gaining the advanced experience needed for future advancement.
Essential Functions
Installation and Maintenance:
- Install, inspect, and maintain plumbing systems, fixtures, piping, and equipment.
- Perform water line, drainage, vent, and gas system repairs and replacements.
Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:
- Diagnose plumbing issues, identify causes, and implement appropriate repair solutions.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and interpret system schematics.
Code Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national plumbing codes and safety regulations.
- Follow OSHA guidelines and maintain clean and safe job sites.
Mentorship and Support:
- Provide guidance and oversight to Plumber I (Apprentice Plumbers).
- Collaborate with Plumber III (Master Plumbers) on larger or more complex projects.
Documentation:
- Maintain records of work performed, materials used, and inspection outcomes.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong understanding of plumbing systems and components.
- Knowledge of IPC, UPC, and local jurisdictional codes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience using plumbing tools, diagnostic instruments, and power tools.
- Basic project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently or in teams and communicate effectively with clients and coworkers.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED (required).
- Completion of an accredited plumbing apprenticeship program.
- Valid Journeyman Plumber License / Certification as required by state or local jurisdiction.
- Typically requires 4,000-8,000 hours of documented experience as an apprentice.
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in the field post-apprenticeship.
Working Environment:
- Both indoor and outdoor environments in various weather conditions.
- Frequently involves standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and confined space work.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, and hard hats required.
Potential Career Path:
Successful Plumber II (Journeyman Plumbers) may progress to become Plumber III (Master Plumbers) upon meeting experience requirements and passing applicable state examinations.
