Seeking a Mechanical Engineer to perform structural and thermal analysis, mechanical design, and system packaging for Navy shipboard-based power distribution equipment. Job Requirements: Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 5+ years of experience, or Masters degree with 3+ years of experience, or 8+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree Experience in mechanical engineering design and analysis Ability to obtain a Secret clearance Preferred Skills: Experience with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or AutoCAD Familiarity with military and industry specifications for design, testing, and materials Experience with environmental qualification testing (Commercial/Navy/Military specs) Knowledge of low/medium-voltage or high-power electrical equipment Proficiency in ANSYS Workbench or equivalent structural analysis software Background in shock and vibration mitigation design for electrical enclosures Familiarity with additive manufacturing materials and techniques Strong technical documentation and report writing capabilities Job Responsibilities: Review specifications to determine structural, thermal, and safety requirements Perform thermal and structural analysis on mechanical designs Design mechanical systems and components for shipboard power distribution panels Prepare 2D and 3D design documentation to meet contract and production requirements Estimate material and labor costs for proposals Coordinate and lead design efforts across engineering teams Support qualification testing, manufacturing, troubleshooting, and product improvements Process and manage design changes using PLM systems Review and approve technical documentation, ensuring completeness and accuracy Interface with customers, vendors, and production teams to refine requirements and solutions Ensure adherence to budget and schedule on assigned projects Pay Details: The California Fair Chance Act Los Angeles City Fair Chance Ordinance Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance
