Excavation Foreman

BCM is a grading and excavating contractor that works out of Faribault and operates in southern Minnesota.

This is a union position with Operating Engineer .

Primary Job Duties:

Foreman will be responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising the work of crews on excavation sites.

Ensure that the work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Excellent leadership skills, who is familiar with excavation equipment and operations, safety procedures, and crew management.

Their main duties and responsibilities include:
Overseeing and directing projects from beginning to completion
Reviewing the project schedule deliveries
Overseeing all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
Coordinating, communicating and directing construction workers and subcontractors
Reviewing the work progress on daily basis to ensure project progress
Planning, organizing and directing activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems
Investigating damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out
Ensuring quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
Preparing internal and external reports pertaining to job status
Maintaining proper job site documentation

Skills and Experience
Established leadership skills to manage and coordinate the team and tasks on the excavation site.
Technical knowledge and experience in operating various heavy machinery used in excavation work, including bulldozers, backhoes, and excavators
Understanding of soil composition to ensure safe and efficient excavation operations.
Project management skills to monitor the progress of excavation projects and ensure they stay within budget and on schedule.
Capable in reading and understanding blueprints and site plans to guide excavation activities.
Excellent communication skills to explain work requirements to coworkers and to communicate effectively with customers and other construction personnel.
Problem-solving abilities to address and resolve any problems or issues that may emerge during the excavation process.
Understanding of safety regulations and procedures to ensure the well-being of all personnel on the job site.
