Assistant Superintendent Jobs in District of Columbia

Aid superintendent as required, providing support in areas such as monitoring on site employee performance and communicating with clients. Assistant superintendents are typically responsible for working with the superintendent to ensure that construction is being carried out in a safe and timely manner. Because many of their tasks involve face-to-face interactions, they have strong interpersonal skills.

Assistant superintendents may also be expected to maintain daily logs or other records, and so must have substantial organizational abilities as well as proficiency in written communication. As superintendents may ask them to help oversee some worksites, this position also demands a general working knowledge of the construction process, including pertinent equipment and methods.
