Floor Layer Jobs
A Floor Layer in the construction industry is responsible for installing a diverse array of flooring materials such as carpet, vinyl, rubber, wood, and tiles in buildings. They prepare the surface for installation, measure and cut the material, lay out the material, and secure it to the floor using a variety of tools. Certifications such as the Certified Floorcovering Installers (CFI) certificate can enhance their professional credibility and job prospects. Prior to becoming a Floor Layer, a person might have roles such as a Construction Laborer, Carpenter's Assistant, or Floor Installer's Apprentice to gain hands-on experience and learn the trade.
