Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to read and interpret plans, extensive knowledge of construction processes, and the capability to prepare accurate project cost estimates.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifications to develop detailed and accurate cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, general contractors, and suppliers to collect necessary date for accurate estimates.
- Review project requirements, timelines, and budgets to ensure feasibility.
- Prepare bid documents.
- Work to refine and enhance pricing strategies and the estimating process to improve accuracy and competitiveness.
- Monitor and search for Request for Proposal (RFP) opportunities and ensure timely submissions.
- Follow up on inquiries and maintain effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
- Monitor market trends and pricing changes in the construction industry.
- Prepare and submit professional, detailed bid proposals to clients and contractors.
Qualifications
Required
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably as an estimator.
Ability to read and interpret plans, blueprints, and specifications accurately.
Preferred
Experience working for a General Contractor (GC).
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Experience with estimating/takeoff software, i.e. Bluebeam.
