Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to read and interpret plans, extensive knowledge of construction processes, and the capability to prepare accurate project cost estimates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifications to develop detailed and accurate cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, general contractors, and suppliers to collect necessary date for accurate estimates.
  • Review project requirements, timelines, and budgets to ensure feasibility.
  • Prepare bid documents.
  • Work to refine and enhance pricing strategies and the estimating process to improve accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Monitor and search for Request for Proposal (RFP) opportunities and ensure timely submissions.
  • Follow up on inquiries and maintain effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
  • Monitor market trends and pricing changes in the construction industry.
  • Prepare and submit professional, detailed bid proposals to clients and contractors.

Qualifications

  • Required

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably as an estimator.

  • Ability to read and interpret plans, blueprints, and specifications accurately.

  • Preferred

  • Experience working for a General Contractor (GC).

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with estimating/takeoff software, i.e. Bluebeam.
