About the Role
As a Health and Safety Manager at Z Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in creating a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. This position requires strong leadership, decisive action, and excellent project management skills, offering the opportunity to directly influence safety culture and compliance at the facility.
You will collaborate with the facilitys management team, union/management Joint Health and Safety Committee, and the Corporate Health and Safety Director to ensure that all safety and health initiatives are executed effectively. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chandler, AZ.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a manufacturing environment, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in developing systems that protect people and improve operational outcomes.

What Youll Do
Provides leadership and coaching on all safety and health matters to the facilitys management team
Manages incident investigations, Workers Compensation claims, and Early and Safe Return to Work initiatives
Conducts inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazards
Recommends and implements effective safeguarding controls to reduce risk
Facilitates monthly Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings and ensures timely follow-up on action items
Develops and leads safety training programs for orientation, equipment, material handling, and hazardous materials
Creates and maintains Job Safety Analysis documentation for all facility positions
Maintains comprehensive documentation related to incidents, risk assessments, and compliance
Communicates progress and updates to the Director of Health and Safety using Basecamp, Intelex, and other tools
Supports safety-related efforts across other Zekelman facilities as needed
Monitors changes in legislation and ensures compliance with safety regulations

Who You Are
25 years of experience in Health and Safety, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Technical or Bachelors Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field, or equivalent experience
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word; technologically savvy
Exceptional project management and training facilitation skills
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage all levels of the organization
Highly organized with strong documentation and compliance tracking abilities
Experience in Workers Compensation claims management
Able to work on-site regularly in a manufacturing/industrial environment
Physically able to lift 60 lbs., climb, bend, stoop, push, and pull as part of regular job duties
