Mechanical Engineer

A multi-disciplinary MEP consulting engineering firm located in Northwest Indiana is looking to add a Mechanical Engineer to their team!

Job Description :

• Manage and engineer large, complex projects; will be responsible for coordinating all aspects and phases of the project between the Architect, Owner, and Engineering Departments
• Consult with project principals to determine requirements for project set-up and staff assignments and manage/organize the project kick-off meetings
• Prepare and maintain timelines and schedules for the project
• Consult with architects, owners, and principals, to compile project information
• Reviewing plans and specifications for office quality standards, conformance to scope of work and design criteria and for general coordination issues
• Manage attendance for design and construction phase meetings with the client
• Assist in the preparation of project budget hours
• Conduct engineering surveys, research, and code analysis/interpretation
• Prepare engineering calculations and energy simulations
• Select and specify systems and equipment
• Prepare engineering reports
• Prepare contract documents (plans and specifications)
• Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, conduct site observation visits, prepare field reports, attend construction meetings
• Communicate with architect and owner after completion of project
• Coordinate with marketing department to obtain marketing information/photographs of project
• Assist in the training of new and existing employees.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 7+ years of experience
• Revit proficiency
• Building design experience

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $65.00/hr.
