Building Engineer Job Description We are actively seeking a Building Engineer to join our facility maintenance team in Rochester, NY. Employees will be working at a private golf course with no required travel. The role involves hands-on work with various equipment and systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and more. Safety is a top priority, and adherence to safety procedures is required. The work environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Responsibilities Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs to the Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Life Safety, and Control systems to keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards. Maintain responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing and inventory control, contracted maintenance, general maintenance, and technical proficiency. Maintain equipment by cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and changing parts to ensure HVAC systems and associated equipment operate at optimum performance levels. Record readings and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation of equipment. Perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory. Monitor the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors. Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping, and safety of work areas. Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them. Essential Skills HVAC maintenance and repair with EPA 608 Universal or type II Certification preferred but not mandatory Ability to troubleshoot and maintain electrical, boiler, and refrigeration systems Facilities maintenance experience within residential, commercial or industrial settings Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel Trade school certifications in electrical systems, HVAC, refrigeration, or design will be beneficial Why Work Here? Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
