Civil Engineer

The Civil Engineer will utilize Civil 3D to create the design of grading/earthwork, erosion control, stormwater pollution prevention plans, stormwater design, and pavement design. This role involves preparing engineering analysis, designs, and calculations for various aspects of site development projects. Additionally, the engineer will assist in project management tasks including scheduling, budgeting, and design review, and may visit project sites for field inspection if needed.

Responsibilities

• Create and design grading/earthwork, erosion control, stormwater pollution prevention plans, stormwater design, and pavement.
• Prepare engineering analysis, designs, and calculations for site development projects.
• Assist in project management tasks including scheduling, budgeting, and design review.
• Visit project sites for field inspection as needed.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong knowledge or experience with stormwater management design.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• 1+ years of experience in site design/land development.
• Ability to work with land development and site design.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Must have EIT certification and ability to obtain PE certification within a few years.

The position is based out of Downers Grove in an office that houses the civil, survey, and environmental teams. Engineers will have their own cubicle and dual monitor setup in an open office space, while managers and partners have private offices. The environment is collaborative, with a preference for individuals to work in the office especially for training purposes. A hybrid schedule is offered, typically requiring three days in the office and two days at home, varying based on individual schedules and needs. The role involves working closely with project managers and offers a long-term opportunity to move into a project management position, run own projects, and develop junior engineers. Projects include industrial (majority), multi-family, and K-12 higher education.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $36.06/hr.
